End of Spring 2008 Season Update - 5/16/08

The Spring 2008 season will officially end on Thursday, May 22.  The league will not allow games to be scheduled after this date.

The online schedules will be frozen on Friday, May 16 at 3:00pm.  Any games left off the schedule will NOT BE rescheduled.  Due to continued field closures, limited team and referee availability, and the short amount of time left in the season, some games will NOT be rescheduled for play.

Thanks for your patience during this trying season.  If you have questions, please email sisl.league@gmail.com or sislvpres@yahoo.com.

Score Reporting Problems

Teams have been using the event ID's from past seasons to call in scores for the Spring 2008 season.  This is why many of the scores are incorrect.  We will email out the score reporting procedures to coaches and managers again.  The league will work to fix the standings, but it will take some time.  Thanks for your patience.

Red Card - Player Pass Return Policy

All coaches or managers seeking to pick up player passes for red cards need to contact the league vice president, Jane Raede at sislvpres@yahoo.com to make arrangements.

Spring Scheduling - Number of Games

Due to a shorter length of season and limited field availability at many locations, the SISL Board agreed to limit the number of games in certain divisons.  The number of games is based appropriately to the number of teams in the division.  The league also wanted to prevent teams from playing some opponents twice and others only once just to reach 10 games.  Almost all divisions are playing 8 or 9 games this spring.

"D" License Coaching Course

Answers to some questions

1)  Referee Fees:  Referee fees are paid according the the age division, not necessarily  by the age of the teams.  For instance, U-12 teams playing in a U13 division will have to pay the U13 fees ($32 per team).  U8/9 games will only be played with one center ref.  Therefore you only have to pay your share of the center refs fees or $12 per team.  2)  U-12 teams game ball:  U-12 teams playing in a U13 bracket will normally be using a size 5  ball.  However, if both teams are U12, and both teams agree, they may exercise the option to play with a Size 4 ball.  However, the game length and ref fees remain at the U13 level.  3)  Normally, it takes 6 teams to make a division, if there are less than 6 teams in an age group, the league will exercise the option to combine it with another age division..  In addition, if there are 12 or more teams in an age division, the league will normally divide that into two divisions based on previous records in an effort to make the games more competitive.
